Ken and I have a Captiva
Loft. In the upstairs bathroom, there is a 36 x 10 decorative window in
the bathtub. I believe the Martinique also has this window in it's hallway
bathroom.
A few weeks ago, this
window broke. We found huge pieces of sharp glass in the tub. I wrote to Lois
Montgomery on 12/9:
"I had a man from
Lowe's here today to measure for a new window. He told me:
1. he has no idea how the
house passed inspection without a tempered window in the bath tub,
and
2. if it had been a
tempered glass window, it most likely would not have broken.
The way this window broke
can be very dangerous for anyone who happens to be in the tub at the time and I
am wondering if all homes in this community with this type of window, realize
how dangerous they can be?
This is costing us just
under $500 for something that should have been done correctly at the time the
house was built."
...and have not heard
back from her. So I guess KHov is not going to take any responsibility for
correcting this problem.
I just wanted everyone to
be aware of this problem and are aware of how dangerous, and expensive,
it can be if broken.
